DIWALI OUTFITS FOR THE MINIMALIST – STYLISTS PICK

Diwali, the ‘it’ season of all festivals is here and it’s that time of the year where shopping doesn’t need a reason. I recollect from my childhood days, Diwali was so exciting for me because I lighted up my house, wore my new fancy clothes, met all my special ones and still looked all right all day, but gone are those days. Currently, I can only think of the increase in pollution, the heat and the humidity, my body temperature is warming up in the heavily designed clothes, it’s a nightmare, do you feel me?

I love Diwali and I like to dress up but for the past few years, I’ve made it a point to look sane through the day. I like to go for more lightweight fabrics, rich in their look yet easy to carry. So here I’m picking out some of my favorite looks that you could flaunt all day with no compromises made!

  1. The Loom

SHOP

I love Jaspal Shah’s take on cotton kurta with sharara, it’s so breezy and easy to carry on hot days. Topping it off with a chanderi dupatta makes this ensemble a special one. Shop this one from The Loom.

2. The Neh Store

SHOP

First of all, I love the clash of colors, dusty rose with mustard yellow, stunner, right? Well, Kudos to The Neh Store for this one. The voluminous twirly jacket in mulmul speaks so much for itself, the chanderi kurta beams like sunshine in the daylight. For anybody who likes to be hassle free from the dupatta, this must be your go to!

  1. Nicobar

SHOP

One must agree that a woman in a saree steals the thunder any day! This Nicobar lightweight zari striped saree is definitely an ‘it’ choice for women who like to take the graceful walk. To a saree lover, you can’t say no to this one, can you?

  1. Jaypore

SHOP

I’m never getting over the old world charm of an all-white outfit; it’s a classic I’m not ready to let go of. Jaypore does it right with this ivory cotton silk kurta. You could match this as a set like this or buy just the kurta and match it with your wardrobe treasures.

  1. The Loom

SHOP

Another one from The Loom by Nikita and Samriti, a gota embroidered cotton kurta with palazzo is a perfect match for an effortless outfit. Yellow with green is a popular Indian outfit color combination so you can blindly choose this on any day!

On an endnote, Diwali shopping buzz is definitely worth it! Tell me which is your favorite outfit from these and I would love to see what you wear too. Happy Diwali ladies!

Until next time,xx.
